Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani has left the country, reports say, quoting Afghan officials.
TOLO reported Taliban fighters have entered parts of Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital city, to prevent looting as the Afghan security forces fled parts of Kabul city and their checkpoints.
It is also have been reported that the country’s Vice-president Amrullah Saleh has reported having fled.
Mr. Ghani has come under increasing pressure to resign as major cities around Afghanistan have fallen to Taliban militants over the course of 10 days.
The Taliban and Afghan government officials are in negotiations for a peaceful transfer of power after fighters surround the capital city earlier on Sunday.
However, promise not to attack the city as handover talks were under way.
