Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League standings to five points with a 3-0 victory over Fulham on Sunday evening.
Aaron Ramsdale, Gabriel Magalhaes, Thomas Partey, Martin Odegaard, and Leandro Trossard all returned from Arsenal’s 2-2 tie against Sporting Lisbon, while Gabriel Jesus was rested.
The top teams took the lead shortly after the 20th minute when Magalhaes grabbed on to Trossard’s in-swinging corner kick and headed in from close range.
Fulham fell further down six minutes later as Trossard evaded a tackle from Tete and delivered for Gabriel Martinelli to nod home.
Trossard continued to tear the Cottagers apart on the stroke of halftime as he latched on a ball down the line by Martinelli and squared for Odegaard to bring under control for a curling finish.
On the verge of the halftime, Trossard was still dismantling the Cottagers when he grabbed onto a Martinelli pass down the line and squared for Odegaard to handle for a curling finish.
With the lead maintained, the Arsenal enjoyed a smooth start to the second period, despite a few alarms from the Cottagers, and introduced Jesus for his first appearance since the FIFA World Cup last year.
The Gunners had not been pressured until a few minutes before full-time, and they maintained their lead at the top of the league by five points.
