“Bad Comments” sequel, “The Crusader,” will begin production in July

A sequel to Jim Iyke’s 2021 film ‘Bad Comments’ has been announced.

The company said preproduction on the sequel, dubbed ‘The Crusader,’ is already underway, with main filming set for July 2022 in Dubai, Dar es Salaam, and Lagos.

The sequel comes after news that Amazon Prime just licenced the original film.

Leading man and executive producer Jim Iyke recently threw a viewing party in Lagos to celebrate the streaming contract.

The film is directed by Moses Inwang and produced by Darlington Abuda. It tells the story of Frank Orji (Jim Iyke), a wealthy businessman who becomes enraged by online trolls. Chiwetalu Agu, Osas Ighodaro, Patience Ozokwo, Sharon Ooja, and Benjamin Touitou also star.

The film has had noteworthy success since its August, 2021 theatrical premiere. It was just chosen for the 17th annual Harlem International Film Festival.
