Liverpool’s FA Cup campaign came to an end on Sunday after losing 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Trent Alexander-Arnold replaced Darwin Nunez on the bench following the Reds’ goalless draw with Chelsea last weekend.
The game got off to a frantic start as Brighton’s defender made a crucial goal-line save to prevent Mohamed Salah’s spectacular shot.
On 15 minutes, Brighton came close to breaking the deadlock as Solly March sprinted down the right side before finding Evan Ferguson, who saw his shot blocked off the line by Alexander-Arnold.

Both teams were threatening, but it was Liverpool who broke the deadlock when Harvey Elliot raced onto a feed from Salah and fired past goalkeeper Jason Steele.
Just before halftime, the home were rewarded when Tariq Lampety’s long shot took a significant deflection off Slam and entered the inside of the net.

Before the hour mark, with the score still tied at 1, Jurgen Klopp made three substitutions, replacing Naby Keita, Elliot, and Alexander-Arnold with Jordan Henderson, Nunez, and Milner.
Even with Klopp’s flurry of substitutions in the second half, Brighton got more dominant and the visitors struggled to create clear-cut opportunities.
However, the home team would go on to earn a late winner through Kaoru Mitoma, who scooped the ball into the net after a fantastic work by Pervis Estupinan.
