Cardi B appeared in a federal courthouse in Atlanta on Thursday, telling jurors that she considered suicide when YouTuber Tasha K spread rumors about her having herpes, used cocaine, and worked as a prostitute.
In an emotional court hearing, the ‘WAP’ rapper stated that Tasha K’s comments against her, including allegations that Cardi B was a sex worker and had caught several STIs, left her “defeated and depressed.”
According to TMZ, she told the court, “I wanted to commit suicide because of what they said… I didn’t want to sleep with my husband.”
“I felt like I didn’t deserve my kid,” she said, referring to her three-year-old daughter Kulture, who was born around the time Tasha K’s accusations were made.
Cardi, whose legal name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, filed her underlying libel and defamation lawsuit in March 2019, alleging that Kebe’s claimed “campaign of slander” involved multiple vlogs that garnered millions of views.
Tasha K allegedly admitted earlier in the trial to willfully publishing lies about the ‘Bodak Yellow’ star in order to make money for her business.
