Corinthians Club president says he wants to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United

Duilio Monteiro Alves, president of Corinthians, has made it known that he wishes to sign Cristiano Ronaldo and has given the striker a way out of Manchester United.

The 37-year-old wants to quit United this summer after the team missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification this year. When he returned to Manchester last season, he scored 24 goals in 38 games across all competitions.

Several teams have been linked with the Portugal international, including Chelsea, Sporting CP, and Bayern Munich. As of right now, Corinthians have added their name to the list via their president, who said the following on Ulissescast via Mundo Deportivo.

“It’s true, I dream big. This is Corinthians! Aren’t Willian and Renato Augusto here? In football everything is possible and I have the obligation to give my best for Corinthians.

“Is it possible? I don’t know. We didn’t try, we didn’t investigate, there was no such possibility, but we are keeping an eye on him. Imagine that he suddenly wants to play in Brazil.”

Alves said that the club’s ability to attract superstars is demonstrated by the presence of players like Renato Augusto and Willian at the Neo Quimica Arena.

Ronaldo is unlikely to sign with a team outside of Europe given his desire to compete in the Champions League.
