Coronavirus Outbreak Updates: Nigeria reports 108 new cases, three deaths in 24 hours

With the second-biggest spike since the beginning of the pandemic, Nigeria registered 108 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the total to 981. The number of deaths rose to 31, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) data said.

In the New data release by NCDC, 78 of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, 14 in Abuja, five in Ogun, and four in Gombe.

Three cases were also confirmed in Borno, two in Akwa-Ibom, and one case each in Kwara and Plateau state.

The recovery rate stood 197 this as of on Thursday, with no new patients recovered or discharge for two days, also 3 death was recorded that brought it to 31 death in total.

The disease has now spread to 25 states and the federal capital territory (FCT), while one major state accounts for about 55 percent of the total cases across the country.

Lagos tops the chart with over 582 cases, followed by Abuja at 133, kano at 78, Ogun at 29, Katsina at 21, and Osun 20.
