For the third day in a row, more than 300 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria in the last 24 hours, following which the nationwide tally inched close to eleven thousand marks. The death toll also inching to 300 after 12 people lost their lives in a single day.

The highest number of 192 cases were reported in Lagos followed by 41 in Edo and 33 in Rivers, it said.
Kaduna, Kwara and Nasarawa reported 30, 23 and 18 cases respectively. 17 cases came up in Borno, 14 in FCT.
Others include Oyo-10, Katsina-7, Abia-5, Delta-5, Adamawa-4, Kano-4, Imo-3, Ondo-3, Benue-2, Bauchi-2, Ogun-2 and Niger-1 the NCDC said.
With the recovery of 115 more patients, the total number of people cured of the disease has reached 3122, while 299 have died, it said.
The number of active cases in the country now stands at 7157.
