COVID-19: Nigeria’s Tally Now at 5621 After 176 new cases were registered; Death Toll at 176

Nigeria’s tally of confirmed coronavirus patients hit 5621 as some states in the country witnessed high numbers of cases, with 176 people to be specific testing positive in the last 24 hours.

A total of 5 deaths have occurred due to the dreaded virus in the last 24 hours. death toll 176 deaths.

The total number of positive cases in the country is now at 5621, including 3973 active cases, 1472 cured/discharged cases.

Lagos continues to be the worst affected area. The state has also witnessed largest spike recently. The state has the highest number of cases with over 2373 positive cases of infection, including 95 new cases reported on Saturday followed by Oyo, which has reported 31 new cases and FCT with 11 infections.

NCDC also announce eight each new cases in Niger and Borno and six in Jigawa state. Four new cases in Kaduna, three in Anambra, two each in Edo, Rivers, Nasarawa and Bauchi and one case each in Benue and Zamfara state.

Cases in kano still claiming up with 761 overall confirmed cases followed by the federal capital territory coming third with 397 total cases. this two states including Lagos make up about 75 per cent of the country’s affect cases.
