The nationwide tally of COVID-19 cases rose by a record 2950 on Tuesday while deaths from the deadly coronavirus topped the 98 with 5 more fatalities recorded in a single day.
In its Twitter official update on the COVID-19 situation in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the death toll due to COVID-19 has risen to 98 with 5 fatalities reported since Tuesday evening, while the number of cases reaches 2950.
The number of active COVID-19 cases stood at 2371 while 481 people have recovered.
A total 148 new cases were reported since Tuesday evening, of which 43 new cases were reported from Lagos, 32 from Kano, 14 from Zamfara, 10 from FCT, 9 from Katsina, 7 from Taraba.
Borno and Ogun have registered six new cases each, Oyo has reported five, Edo, Kaduna, Bauchi confirmed three each of the infection, while Adamawa and Gombe have Two COVID-19 cases each. Plateau, Sokoto and Kebbi state have reported a case each.
