Real Madrid is said to be ‘increasingly’ interested in re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
The Mirror reports that Ronaldo may depart Manchester United in the summer in a sensational reunion with his former team.
The Portuguese captain rejoined Manchester United last summer and has had an outstanding this season, netting 23 goals across all competitions.
He grabbed his 17th Premier League goal of the season in the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw with Chelsea last Thursday.
Following the game, Ralf Rangnick was asked if he knew anything about his successors’ plans for Ronaldo, and he did nothing to quell the speculation.
“In the end, it is both Erik [ten Hag]’s and also Cristiano’s decision what they want to do so I think it is not for me to speak about that.”
United presently sits in the sixth position in the table, making Ralf Rangnick’s team appear unlikely to finish in the top four.
A report suggests that Real Madrid, who won their 35th LaLiga title on Saturday, is exploring a move for their former player, knowing that Ronaldo guarantees goals in Spain’s top division.
During his career at the Santiago Bernabéu, he scored 450 goals in 438 matches.
Ronaldo signed a two-year contract at Old Trafford, but it is believed that the former Juventus player’s future in England is now unknown.
