Doyin Okupe apologized for asking Igbo’s to beg northern leaders ahead of 2023 election

Earlier on Saturday, March 20, 2021, the former presidential aide, in a now-deleted tweet said that the only way that an Igbo presidency can be possible is if “northerners forgive the Igbos for the killing of Ahmadu Bello by Nigerian soldiers of Igbo extraction in the 1966 coup”.

The tweet which has created miss reaction among some Nigerians, who felt bias over the post, attacking him for being insensitive about the millions of Igbos killed during the civil war that broke out after the coup

However, in his recent tweet, Okupe deleted the tweets and also apologized to the Nigerians who felt offended over the tweet.

“I tender my unreserved apology 2 d Igbos & other Nigerians who felt offended by my post on Igbo presidency and the north. “I never intended to hurt or demean the Igbos.”

Okupe, explained that he was only trying to help the Igbos to actualize their political dream and not to hurt them.

His Tweet; “I tender my unreserved apology to the Igbos and other Nigerians who felt offended by my post on Igbo presidency and the north.

“I never intended to hurt or demean the Igbos. Instead, I wanted to help actualize the dream. I regret the said post, and I am truly sorry, ” he concluded
