Elon Musk trolled Jeff Bezos after he beat him in an almost three-billion contract from NASA, according to a report.
The two richest men competed for a government contract worth $2.9 billion to build a moon lander for the Artemis program. The project aims to send 18 astronauts to make missions to the mood.
However, Musk’s SpaceX won and and Bezos wasn’t happy that his Blue Origin firm lost the bid.
Bezos’ Blue Origin on Monday filed a protest with the Government Accountability Office (GAO), accusing the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of moving the goalposts for contract bidders at the last minute.
He said the decision to award Space X the contract is flawed, and the goalpost was removed last minute. In his statement to protest the decision.
“NASA has executed a flawed acquisition for the Human Landing System program and moved the goalposts at the last minute,” Blue Origin said in an emailed statement.
“Their decision eliminates opportunities for competition, significantly narrows the supply base, and not only delays, but also endangers America’s return to the moon. Because of that, we’ve filed a protest with the GAO.”
When Elon Musk learned about the protest from Jeff Bezo’s end, he put on his trolling hat at the expense of Bezo’s loss. Musk, who came second to Bezos in the list of the richest people in the world, seemingly mocked the latter.
“Can’t get it up (to orbit) lol” he commented on a post on Twitter about the protest.
