Naira Marley had tweeted on Monday afternoon his intentions to carry out his planned street protest if the federal government of Nigeria fails to fulfill it’s promise of disbanding the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
Yesterday, the IG of police has declared that the activities of the SARS unit has been halted permanently to the jubilation of Nigerians, but reports still flew across social media that some peaceful protesters were still being arrested and detained unlawfully by the police.
Naira Marley took to Twitter to warn that today being Monday October 12th would have been a riot if the FG hadn’t declared the closure of the SARS unit. However, if the promises aren’t fulfilled and demands aren’t met, he would lead another group of protesters to hit the streets again.
