Erica: Nothing is being done about our protests.

Ex Bbnaija lockdown housemate Erica Nlewedim has bemoaned the inability of the federal government and the Nigerian police force to respond to the protests organized by Nigerian youths.

Just recently, a lot of young people in Nigeria took to their social media pages to clamour for the expulsion of the Special Anti Robbery Squad who are notoriously known for meting out wanton brutality on Nigerian youths. Reports from various citizens claim that most youths have fallen victim of extortion from the SARS officers with many unluckily losing their lives in the process.

The quest to put a stop to the menace prompted notable celebrities like Runtown and Falz to lead a street protest, with some others like Naira Marley, DJ Cuppy, Wizkid, AY, Davido, etc lending their voices to the struggle via social media.

However, Erica cried out to Nigerians of the governments nonchalant approach to the situation. According to her statement on Twitter, the Ex Bbnaija housemate claimed that the authorities only pretend to keep the situation under control whilst doing nothing to meet the demands of the protesters.

Referring to the Inspector General of Police’s statement, Erica stated that the promises made to suspend the activities of SARS till a proper reform is made on the organization is nothing but a fiction. Proper procedures haven’t been put in place so far and Nigerians are still left at the mercy of the security forces who are a threat to their lives rather than protection.
