Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the only way that the federal government can reverse its decision on the suspension of the microblogging site, Twitter is if it is duly requested in Nigeria.
Mohammed, on Wednesday, when addressing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council, said the management of Twitter has reached out for dialogue.
The minister noted that reports of Twitter’s huge financial losses running into billions indicate that the ban has been effective so far.

Adding that the platform has been a place for separatists to thrive and would be disallowed from operating until it is duly registered, licensed, and operates within regulations.
He also said other social media platform like Facebook and Instagram must also be registered in the country.
However, the minister refrained from answering questions about the law under which Nigerians who violate the ban would be prosecuted.
He said the attorney general of the federation would provide answers to the question.
