France finishes third in the UEFA Nations League. Here’s all that happened



Denmark 2-0 France
After losing 2-0 to Denmark on Sunday night, the defending UEFA Nations League winners France placed third in the group.

Raphael Varane and Joule Kounde, who were both injured, were swapped out for William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano by Didier Deschamps.

First-half goals from Kasper Dolberg and Andreas Skov Olsen gave the home team a commanding advantage.

The victory was not sufficient for the Danes to advance since Croatia had obtained the crucial victory in the other Group One match.

Austria 1-3 Croatia

Croatia qualified to the Nations League semi-finals with a 3-1 victory against Austria.

The visitors took the lead as early as the sixth minute, with experienced midfielder Luka Modric scoring.

The lead didn’t last long, as Christoph Baumgartner equalized three minutes later for Austria.

Marko Livaja regained Croatia’s lead in the 69th minute, and Dejan Lovren sealed the victory three minutes later.

Croatia has secured top position in the group, while Austria has been relegated to League B.

Netherlands 1-0 Belgium

In their last group match on Sunday, the Netherlands defeated Belgium to advance to the final four.

Memphis Depay was replaced by Steven Bergwijn while Frenkie de Jong was also absent due to an injury sustained on Thursday night.

Wales 0-1 Poland
Wales lost 1-0 to Poland at the Cardiff City Stadium, sending them to League B.

After a scoreless first half, Karol Swiderski’s powerful strike gave the visitors the lead in the 57th minute.

Poland finished third in the group as a consequence, and Wales will play in the second tier of the next Nations League season.
