Veteran British actress Dame Diana Rigg, whose storied career included roles as Olenna Tyrell in the Game of Thrones and James Bond’s only wife, has passed on Thursday, at the age of 82.

“She spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter, and a deep pride in her profession,” Her daughter, actress Rachael Stirling, also discloses she died of cancer, after being diagnosed in March.
Rigg is best known for playing spy Emma Peel on the 1960s British series The Avengers. She also appeared in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) becoming the only character to marry James Bond in the entire film franchise and more recently for playing Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones.
Paying tribute to Game of throne posted “Be a dragon. The realm will always remember Diana Rigg.”
Sherlock writer and actor Mark Gatiss fondly recalled working with her, while Stephen Merchant remembered her in a scene from his show Extras.
British Academy Film Awards ‘BAFTA‘ wrote “We’re sad to hear of the passing of Dame Diana Rigg, BAFTA-winner for her performance in Mother Love in 1990 and joint recipient of the BAFTA Television Special Award in 2000 for The Avengers.”
