Jenna Ortega may be reuniting with her Wednesday director Tim Burton for the long-awaited sequel Beetlejuice. According to THR, the studio behind the film, WB, has yet to comment on the story.
However, per the same report, Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton are also expected to return in the lead role. Ortega would portray Ryder’s Lydia’s daughter.
Although it’s still early, Burton recently stated that he was developing ideas. He probably agreed to star in the long-rumored sequel as a result of his Wednesday show on Netflix with Ortega’s huge success.
As he already played Batman in WB’s highly anticipated The Flash, Michael Keaton would be reprising an iconic role for the studio for the second time in recent years, he was also primed to be a part of the Batgirl film.
All of this comes with the disclaimer that just because a project appears sensible does not imply it will be implemented. THR cites “sources,” but no one has confirmed anything, despite the fact that Ortega stars in this weekend’s Scream VI and is poised for a second season of Wednesday.
