Jose Mourinho has been sacked as Tottenham coach after 17 months in charge of the London club, according to reports.
The Portuguese have been relieved of his duties by chairman Daniel Levy after a disappointing campaign.
A statement from Daniel Levy declared via Mirror
He said: “Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a club.
“Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic. On a personal level I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged.
“He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution.”
Spurs were dumped out of the Europa League in embarrassing circumstances, letting a 2-0 lead slip against Dinamo Zagreb and sit seventh in the Premier League table.
According to a report on football.london, there was a growing feeling that Mourinho would not be the manager next season, however, Levy has decided to act now.
