Kogi join the list as NCDC announced 389 new cases

In the last 24 hours, Nigeria recorded 389 new #COVID19 cases and 5 deaths, the ministry of health and NCDC said on Wednesday night. The total number of cases in the country now stands at 8733 and the total number fatalities increase to 254.

According to the latest NCDC data, Lagos state still has the highest number of cases with 256 cases while Katsina follows with 23, Edo 22, Rivers 14, and Kano 13.

In Gombe, Plateau, Abia, Delta, Benue, Niger, Kogi, and Oyo state, two cases each were recorded while one each was confirmed in Imo, Borno, Ogun and Anambra.

Kogi state has finally joined the list of the Nigerian states with coronavirus as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed two cases from the state on Wednesday night, May 27.

Until Wednesday, Kogi was one of the two remaining states yet to record a single Covid-19 case; Cross River state was the second.

Numbers of the recovered patient has improved as 116 people have been discharged for the isolation centre, the total number of recovered now stands at 2501.
