Korean singer-actor Lee Ji Han has been identified as one of those who died in a stampede during a Halloween event in Seoul’s nightlife area of Itaewon on Saturday night (Oct 29). He was 24.
The news was confirmed by two agencies representing the star, 935 Entertainment and 9Ato Entertainment (Oct. 30). He was 24.
At least 154 people, mostly teenagers and young adults in their twenties, were killed in a crash as a large crowd poured into a nightlife alley.
“Actor Lee Ji Han, who is a part of our precious family, left our side and became a star in the sky,” Ji Han’s agency 935 Entertainment said in a statement Wednesday.
“We send our deepest condolences to his surviving family, who are deeply saddened by the sudden tragic news, and those who have loved Lee and mourn his death. We still remember Lee, who always had a big smile and greeted people with energy. He was a bright and pure person, and we cannot believe that we will no longer see him.”
Ji Han started his start in Showbiz in 2017 when he competed in the singing competition Produce 101 before moving on to acting and modeling.
He appeared in the web drama Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day in 2019.
