Chelsea and Manchester City will face each other in the Champions League final that will take place on May 29 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
Last night the game between Chelsea and Real Madrid ended in favor of the blue as they advance to the final after a 2-0 win against their opponent at Stamford Bridge.
N’Golo Kante spearheaded Chelsea’s midfield in attack and defence. He was involved in both goals tonight, from dispossessing players to delivering crucial passes. Is he the most valuable player in the tournament? pic.twitter.com/wS51LQPpFk— SuperSport 🏆 (@SuperSportTV) May 5, 2021
City made history for the first time history after their victory against Paris Saint-Germain to reach the final But not the same for the blue since they have participated three times in the League final.
This will be the third time in total that two Premier League sides feature in a final and the second time in two years. The first time an all-English final took place was back in 2008 when Manchester United defeated Chelsea on penalties to lift the trophy.
Eleven years later, Liverpool beat Tottenham at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi.
Pep Guardiola’s side is the ninth English team to have reached the major European tournament’s final after Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Tottenham.
