Nigeria reported 206 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero deaths in the last 24 hours as the country’s financial city Lagos continued to face rising cases of the virus.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the cases were reported in nine states and the federal capital territory (FCT) on Tuesday.
According to the health agency, Lagos recorded new infections with 132 cases followed by Akwa Ibom with 56 and Ekiti state with five cases.
Other states that reported cases include Delta (3), Rivers (2), Enugu (2), Jigawa (2), Katsina (2), Gombe (1), and FCT (1).
NCDC added that 23 people were discharged on Tuesday after they recovered from the infection.
Nigeria Covid cases now stand at 169,884, while 164,733 people have been discharged while 2,128 deaths have been recorded across the country.
Also, NCDC has tested more than 2.4 million samples for the virus out of the country’s more than 200 million population.
