Nigeria coronavirus tally crosses 46k after it registers 453 cases and 6 death

Nigeria on Saturday reported a single-day spike of 453 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 46,140, the NCDC said. With six COVID-19 patients succumbing, the death toll in the state increased to 942, the health agency added.

According to the updates, the country capital (Abuja) records the highest number of new cases with 75, followed by Lagos with 70 new cases.

In Benue state, 53 more cases were detected, 39 in Delta, 30 in Borno, 25 in Enugu, 24 in Plateau, 20 in Osun, 19 in Abia, 17 in Oyo, 16 in Kaduna, 13 each in Kano and Ebonyi.

Ogun increases it casses with nine new infection, followed Kwara with seven cases while Ondo recorded six new covid-19 cases, Gombe, Ekiti recorded three and two respectively, the last states on NCDC list are Akwa Ibom and Rivers with one cases each.

As many as 407 people have recovered and have been discharged from the isolation centers across the country, while the number of active cases stands at 12,154.
