Egypt captain Mohamed Salah has shared his opinion on Nigeria’s Super Eagles before their first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group clash.
The Liverpool player is set to lead Egypt in the clash with the Super Eagles.
The Egyptian declared at a news conference on Monday, January 10, 2022, that the Super Eagles have all it takes to win the AFCON2021 championship.
“Nigeria has players to win the tournament, I am just one player in my team. I don’t take questions and reactions personally. They have good players, but we will try our best to win tomorrow,” he said.
Salah then revealed his desire to lead Egypt to their eighth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.
“I’d want to win anything with the country, and I’ll give it my all for the squad,” he stated. We have a good coach and players, so we should be able to win.

Salah responded that he just wants to succeed as part of the squad when questioned about the threat he poses to other teams during the competition.
“I’m just a part of the team,” he said, “and I wouldn’t consider myself the team’s most dangerous player.” I’ve came to join the squad and play some games.
Discussing Jurgen Klopp’s controversial comments on the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah defended his club manager.
“Klopp was joking when he said he wanted us to come. He told me he wanted me to win, but I’m not sure what he said to Mane. The AFCON is regarded as a big tournament in England.”
Salah and Egypt will face the Super Eagles in their opening Group D encounter tomorrow at Garoua.
