Nigeria entered the No one worst-hit countries in West Africa, as it records a high number in #Covid-19 infections on Saturday and Sunday with the data as 265 and 313 respectively.
Nigeria recorded 313 new cases on Sunday, taking the country’s tally to 7839 and the death toll to 226, pushing the country to the number one spot on the list of worst-hit nations, in west Africa, and 4th place in the hole of Africa after Algeria.
Lagos continued to be the worst-hit state with 3505 cases. 145 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, 36 in FCT, 27 in Rivers, 19 in Edo, 13 in Kano, 12 in Ogun and 11 in Ebonyi.
The NCDC also confirmed eight cases each in Nasarawa and Delta state, seven in Oyo, six in Plateau, five in Kaduna, four in Kwara and three cases each in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa state.
Two cases were also recorded in Niger state while one was confirmed in Anambra.
The NDCD’s update on Sunday, also showed that five patients died of the virus while 89 recovered and have been discharged from isolation centres taking the recovered total number to 2263.
