Nigeria Records 1565 New COVID-19 Cases, 6 Fresh Fatalities; active cases now stand at 16,622

Daily new COVID-19 cases in the country increase beyond 1,000 for the third consecutive day taking Nigeria’s caseload to 95,934, while the recoveries are 77,982. according to the Nigeria center for disease control (NCDC) data updated on Thursday.

A total of 1565 people tested positive for coronavirus infection. The death toll increased to 1,330 with six(96) new fatalities, the data updated on Thursday night shows.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease is 683 pushing the national recovery to a total of 77,982. The COVID-19 active caseload remained beyond 16,000, 16,622 to be precise.

According to the update, the 1565 new cases in 25 states include the federal capital territory, Abuja.

Lagos which is the country’s hot zone recorded 807 new cases followed by Abuja with 236. 79 from Kaduna, 57 from Oyo, 47 from Plateau while 37 from Rivers and 35 from Katsina, 30 each from Edo, Sokoto.

Other states with new cases includes Delta-26, Kebbi-23, Ondo-20, Enugu-18, Abia-17, Ogun-17, Benue-16, Bayelsa-15, Bauchi-14, Niger-13, Kano-10, Borno-6, Imo-5, Ekiti-4, Osun-2, Jigawa-1
