Nigeria Records 170 New Covid-19 Cases, Total Infections Rise to 2558

Nigeria recorded a slit day of fall in fresh COVID-19 cases, with a total of 170 cases and Two deaths taking place in the country on Sunday.

Two deaths and 170 new #Covid-19 cases recorded in Nigeria today. The total number of positive cases has risen to 2558 including 87 deaths: a Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) report said.

On Saturday, the state had registered 220 cases, while on Friday, a stunning spike of 238 confirmed cases was reported from the country.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s commercial hub of Lagos, the worst-affected state in the country, today witnessed 39 fresh cases and 3 deaths, taking its tally to 1107, including 30 casualties. A total of 247 patients in the state have been discharged thus far.

As many as 400 patients have recovered so far, while there are 2071 active cases, the NCDC said.

Thirty-Nine new cases were reported from Lagos, Kano recorded 29 new cases, while Ogun State sees an increasing number of cases as they recorded 24 new Covid-19 cases.

Bauchi recorded 18 new cases while Kaduna State has 15 new cases, NCDC also announced 12 new cases in Abuja and Sokoto State.

Katsina recorded eight new cases, while Borno had seven new cases.

Nasarawa recorded three new cases while Adamawa had two new cases and Oyo State got one new case.

In total, 2558 cases, discharged 400 persons, while 87 persons have died have been confirmed by NCDC.
