Nigeria registered 44 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the nationwide tally to 165,559, Nigeria’s Covid-19 response center NCDC said in a statement Wednesday.
Meanwhile, another one more deaths were reported in the past 24 hours, taking the country’s death toll to 2,066, NCDC Thursdays tweet says.
According to the Health agency index, 156,374 people have recovered, including 16 over the past 24 hours.
Lagos, the country’s worst-hit region, reported 28 cases, taking its tally of infections to 58,643, Over 1,977,479 coronavirus tests have been conducted across the country so far.
Rivers added 14 new case to it list while Akwa Ibom and Ekiti registered one cases each.
In similar news, Nigeria as of May 12 has inoculated a total of 1,748, 242, representing 86.9 percent of the 4.1 million Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccine received in the country on March 2 this year.
The Presidential Steering Committee has also approved the commencement of the second dose of the Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccination in all states of the federation and the FCT.
