Nigeria tally of coronavirus surpassed the 9000-mark after the country reported the highest number of cases– 387 to be specific and 2 fatalities in the past 24 hours. This is said to be the biggest single-day spike in #COVID19 cases so far.
While the country has 6344 active cases, 2697 persons have recovered and have been discharged. The death toll due to the dreaded virus has reached 261.
Out of 387 new cases in the country on Friday, 254 were reported in Lagos and 29 from the Federal capital territory (FCT). Also Read – Donald Trump Says US Is ‘Terminating’ Its Relationship With WHO.
Also on the daily NCDC update, 24 new cases were recorded in Jigawa state while in Edo state, 22 more cases were registered, 15 in Oyo, 14 in Rivers, 11 in Kaduna, six in Borno and three in Kano state.
Two cases each were also recorded in Plateau, Yobe, Gombe and Bauchi state and one more in Ondo state.
Lagos still remained the worst hit with a total of 4377 cases, Kano is the next worst hit with the number of cases totalling 942 and the national capital (Abuja) having the third-highest cases with a total of 564 cases so far.
