Number of Recoveries Cross 18k-Mark; 18,203 Discharged Thus Far, 648 new cases

There were 648 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria on Monday, taking its overall tally to 41,180. Also, on the day, 829 discharges and two deaths took place, taking the total number of discharges and death toll thus far to 18,203 and 860 respectively.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in its daily update that new cases were recorded 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Lagos which happened to be the worst-hit state in the country reports 180 new #COVID19 cases followed by Plateau with 148, FCT with 44, Ondo with 42, and Kwara with 38.

Rivers, meanwhile, registered 32 new cases, while Oyo recorded 29, Kaduna recorded 21, Osun recorded 20, Edo and Ogun recorded 17 each, and Ekiti recorded 11.

New nine cases each were also recorded in Kano, Benue, Delta, Abia, while NCDC announces seven and three respectively in Niger and Gombe. completing the list of states with new cases are Borno, Bauchi, and Imo with one cases of the infection each.

Notably, the number of recoveries in the country had on Monday shows a lot of effort by the Health agency to comb the spread of the deadly infection that has cost a lot of hardship in Nigeria and world at large as it discharged its highest number of patients since the outbreak was first recorded.
