On Thursday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had announced that 276 movies are in contention for the best picture race at the 94th Academy Awards.
Last year, the Academy expanded the qualification window until Feb. 28, 2021, in the midst of the pandemic with 366 movies qualified. This year, the qualification time frame was abbreviated to 10 months.
The Qualified movies include Being the Ricardos, Belfast, Don’t Look Up, Encanto, The Harder They Fall, House of Gucci, In the Heights, King Richard, The Power of the Dog, Passing, Spencer, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings, West Side Story and more. Among the international titles eligible is Titane, Drive My Car, and The Hand of God.
Nomination voting will begin on Jan. 27 and conclude on Feb. 1. Nominations will be announced on Feb. 8.
