Over 543 New Cases Recorded in Last 24 Hours, Nigeria’s Total Tally now at 38,344

In the last 24 hours, Nigeria recorded 543 new cases pushing the total Covid-19 tally in Nigeria over 38,00 mark today, while the death toll recorded in the last 24 hours stands at Eight. While the overall number of death due to the disease rose to 813.

Following the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its daily updates via its social media pages, the new cases were detected in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Lagos, continue to be the worst-hit state in Nigeria, as usual, recorded the highest number of the new cases with 180 cases taking it totally confirmed cases 13806.

The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on the other hand, comes second-most hit state with 3297 confirmed cases including 86 cases recorded on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

56 new cases were confirmed in Kaduna state, 47 in Edo, 37 in Ondo, 35 in Kwara, 19 in Ogun and Rivers, 17 in Kano and 16 each in Ebonyi and Enugu state.

In Delta seven cases were recorded, four in Bayelsa, 3 in Bauchi and one in Abia state.

According to NCDC data, the total number of COVID-19 cases stands at 38,344. Of this, 21716 are active cases in the country, while 15,815 people have recovered or have been discharged from hospitals.
