In the last 24 hours, Nigeria recorded 626 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, July 2, 2020, pushing Nigeria’s total tally to 27,110. The death toll rose to 616 with 13 new cases.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos, the worst-hit state of the infection in Nigeria recorded 193 more cases, while Federal Capital Territory, Abuja recorded 85 cases, followed by Oyo with 41.
38 more cases were recorded in Edo, while in Kawara, 31 in Abia, 29 in Ogun, 28 in Ondo, 26 in Rivers, 21 in Osun, 18 each both in Akwa Ibom and Delta.
NCDC also announce 15 new cases in Enugu, 13 in Kaduna, and 11 in Plateau, Other states with more new cases of coronavirus include Borno-8, Bauchi-7, Adamawa-5, Gombe-4, and Sokoto-1.
The agency updates via it Twitter page showed that 649 patients recovered from the virus and have been discharged. This brings the total of discharged cases in Nigeria currently 10801, while the country active cases now stood at 15,693.
