Kylian Mbappe allegedly asked Paris Saint-German to get rid of Neymar after the Brazilian “liked” tweets criticizing the Frenchman following their 5-2 win over Montpellier on Saturday.
According to Romain Molina, a French journalist, the 24-year-old and his camp have been pushing for the former Barcelona striker to quit the club since he signed a new three-year contract earlier this year.
Paris Saint-Germain extended their unbeaten start to the season with a 5-2 victory over Montpellier, with both Neymar and Mbappé scoring.
The France star stepped up to take the kick from 12 yards after Neymar had taken a penalty in the Ligue 1 champions’ previous win over Clermont Foot but saw his effort saved.
Neymar then took the second penalty awarded to PSG in the match, later on, to make it 2-0, but the earlier spot-kick clearly left him outraged.
Despite his mistake, PSG coach Christophe Galtier affirmed after the game that Mbappé will be the club’s first-choice penalty taker this season.
And, while he didn’t publicly criticize Mbappé on social media, Neymar’s recent actions made his thoughts about the situation known.
The ex-Barcelona striker liked two posts, the first of which stated: “Today, in the PSG game, Neymar scored and HUMILIATED the goalkeeper (once again) in the penalty kick.” Mbappé, on the other hand, hit VERY badly and lost.
“After the game, the coach said that Mbappé will be the team’s main hitter for the season. An absurdity.”
“Now it’s official, Mbappe is the one who takes the penalties at PSG,” he liked another post.
“Clearly this is a contract thing, because in no club in the world that has Neymar, he would be the second collector, none!! It seems that because of the contract, Mbappe is the owner of PSG!!”
The report adds that their relationship has recently worsened significantly, with Mbappe believing he can gain more from playing with Lionel Messi in the future.
