Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly interested in ex-Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry. The contract of the Bayern Munich striker is slated to expire in 2023.
According to the Daily Star, Gnabry wants a £250,000-per-week contract, and Bayern Munich is leery to meet the German’s wage demands.
Tottenham Hotspur could make a big move for the 26-year-old this summer, taking advantage of his contract status at the Allianz Arena.
Antonio Conte will be eager to maintain his performance with the club this summer by making some good signings. He is said to be eager to sign the ex-Arsenal player.
In 2011, Gnabry moved to Arsenal from Stuttgart. He played a season in Arsenal’s youth setup before getting promoted to the senior squad. After failing to establish himself as a regular member of Arsenal’s first squad, he joined Werder Bremen in 2016.
Bayern Munich paid €8 million to sign the German international from Bremen in the belief that he could grow into a long-term successor to Frank Ribery.
During his time with the Bavarians, he has grown leaps and bounds. The 26-year-old has 63 goals in 168 Bundesliga games for the Bundesliga champions, helping them win four league crowns, two DFB Pokals, and a Champions League.
The Germany international, on the other hand, has been unable to strike a deal with the Bavarians on a contract extension. As a result, the Bundesliga club may decide to trade him this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year.
