Two corps members who’s names are Okafor love Obianuju and Odji Oritsetsolaye, has been sent packing after the refuse to wear trouser.
The two corps members are currently undergoing their three weeks orientation course for the “2019 batch c stream 1” in Ebony state
It was gathered that the duo refused to wear trouser because it was against their faith and as such preferred to wear skirt, which was meant for females.
The NYSC spokesperson in the state, Mrs Ngozi Ukwuoma, told newsmen that the two corps members were seen wearing a white t-shirt and a white skirt, during a routine check by the camp director Mrs Isu Josephine and her team.
The statement released goes as follows,
” when the were accosted and interrogated, the disclosed that they can not wear white shorts and trousers given to them by NYSC since it was against their faith.
Efforts were however made by the official of the camp director to make them see why they must obey the rules and regulations guiding the orientation and NYSC, but all efforts to do that proved futile.
She continued, by saying, “the corps members were queried and subsequently made to face the camp court, where they were found guilty, having made it clear that the were ready to bear the consequences of their actions”.
Mrs Ukwuoma added that the court recommendations were submitted to the camp director and the management to de-kit the Corp members.
“They were de-kitted in the presence of the security agents, who also escorted them to the gate as the left the camp”.
