With a high number of cases announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Nigeria sees another high single-day spike of #COVID19 cases on Sunday with 307 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 10,162, while the death toll rose to 287, the new update shows.
Nigeria is the now third worst-hit nation by the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa. The number of active COVID-19 cases stood to 6,868, while 3007 people have recovered.
As the daily NCDC update report show 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The number of cases has gone up by 188 in Lagos as the state remained the worst-hit state with a total of 4943 cases.
According to the update by the agencies, 44 new cases were recorded in FCT, 19 in Ogun, 14 in Kaduna, 12 in Oyo, nine in Bayelsa and five in Gombe state.
While three cases each were also confirmed in Kano and Delta state, two each in Imo, Rivers, Niger and Bauchi and one case each in Plateau and Kwara state.
The death toll has gone up by 14 since Sunday while 151 patients recovered from the virus bring the total death and recovered to 287 and 3007 respectively.
