Transfer: Al Hilal agree deal with Paris Saint-Germain for Brazil forward

Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to secure the services of Brazilian football star Neymar. The player is expected to finalize a two-year contract after undergoing a medical evaluation today, with the transfer set to conclude within the next 48 hours.

According to PSG sources, the club would be rewarded up to £86.3 million for Neymar’s move. Notably, PSG first purchased Neymar from Barcelona in 2017 for a world record fee of £200 million. Neymar, 31, is no longer seen as a key player by PSG’s new head coach, Luis Enrique. As a result, PSG has decided to sell Neymar in order to focus on developing a younger and more ambitious team.

Neymar would reportedly get £129.4 million a year in Saudi Arabia, a significant boost from his six times lower wages at PSG, according to Sky Sports News’ Kaveh Solhekol.

In addition to Neymar, Al Hilal had attempted to sign the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe during the current summer transfer window. Messi, on the other hand, decided to join Inter Miami, while Mbappe opted to stay with PSG.

Kylian Mbappe’s relationship with PSG had soured due to his unwillingness to extend his contract, which may have allowed him to go on a free transfer at the end of the season. Despite PSG’s desire to split ways with him, Mbappe has reaffirmed his loyalty to the club, as evidenced by his return to first-team training.

PSG accepted an extraordinary £258 million offer from Al Hilal for Mbappe’s move last month. Nonetheless, Mbappe turned down the one-year deal in Saudi Arabia, underlining his desire to remain with PSG.
