Sean “Diddy” Combs walked out of court Wednesday with a partial win but still staring down serious time.
The music mogul was found not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking after a gripping federal trial filled with disturbing testimony. But the jury did convict him on two lesser charges: transportation to engage in prostitution.
The verdict came after three days of jury deliberation and a seven-week trial where Diddy’s legal team never called a single witness.
The moment the decision was read, emotion filled the courtroom. Diddy, 55, dropped to his knees in relief and prayer. Behind him, his family clapped and cheered. “Thank you, love you,” he said, holding back tears as he left.
Defense attorney Jenny Geragos couldn’t hold back her own tears, while lead lawyer Marc Agnifilo pumped his fist and hugged everyone in sight.
But the legal battle isn’t over yet. Diddy could still face up to 20 years in prison—10 years per count—when sentencing arrives. Prosecutor Maurene Comey made it clear the government will push for the max.
Agnifilo pushed for Diddy to be released from federal detention, where he’s been for almost a year. He offered a $1 million bond and requested Diddy be allowed to return to his Miami home.
Judge Arun Subramanian said he’d make a decision later that day after hearing both sides.
Outside, it was pure chaos—mixed with celebration.
Diddy’s mother and his son Justin were seen leaving the courthouse, greeted by a loud crowd chanting, “Free Puff! Free Puff!”
Janice Combs, his mom, came back out soon after, blowing kisses and waving to fans.
