A new poster for Marvel Studios’ Disney+ original series Hawkeye pays homage to writer Matt Fraction and artist David Aja’s acclaimed run on the Hawkeye comic book series — and shows fan-favorite pup Pizza Dog getting into the holiday spirit.
The poster, shared to the official Hawkeye Twitter account, features the characters of Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Kate Bishop/Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld), and, of course, Lucky, aka Pizza Dog. While Clint and Kate are wearing their respective purple Hawkeye outfits, Lucky is seen sporting a Santa hat.
The poster appears to be modeled after Aja’s cover art for Hawkeye #6, which was published by Marvel Comics in December 2012. The issue itself was written by Fraction and illustrated by Aja with colors by Matt Hollingsworth.
Set after the events of the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame, Hawkeye is slated to premiere its first two episodes on Disney+ on Wednesday, Nov. 24. The series will run for a total of six episodes, concluding on Wednesday, Dec. 22. It sees the return of Renner, who has played the character of Clint Barton since 2011’s Thor and marks Steinfeld’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Kate Bishop, of Young Avengers fame.
In addition to Renner and Steinfeld, Hawkeye stars Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Fra Fee as Kazi, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/Echo, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova/Black Widow, and Brian d’Arcy James in an undisclosed role. A spinoff series starring Cox’s Native American superhero Echo is reportedly in development.

Set during the holiday season, Hawkeye features numerous elements from Fraction and Aja’s run on Marvel’s comic series of the same name, such as Clint mentoring Kate, the duo adopting Lucky/Pizza Dog, and the inclusion of the villainous gang known as the Tracksuit Draculas.
The Disney+ series wears its influences on its sleeve, with its logo and promotional material also taking cues from Fraction and Aja’s comics.
An official synopsis for Hawkeye reads as follows:
“Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero.
“The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.”
Hawkeye premieres on Nov. 24 on Disney+.
