The Independent National Electoral Commission has officially recognised Senator David Mark as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress. Former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola is listed as National Secretary.
The development followed the decision of the party’s founder, Ralph Nwosu, who on July 2 dissolved the National Working Committee and endorsed an interim leadership led by Mark.
At its 99th National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, the party formally handed over leadership to Mark and Aregbesola. A 50-member Policy Committee was also inaugurated to review the party’s manifesto and guide reforms.
INEC confirmed the changes on its website on Wednesday, updating the list of recognised executive members.
The new NWC includes Mark as National Chairman, Aregbesola as National Secretary, Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as National Treasurer, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor as National Legal Adviser, and Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary.
