Kamaru Usman’s defeat Colby Covington in UFC 268 rematch to retain his title

Nigeria’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) star Kamaru Usman defeated American Colby Covington to retain his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title.

UFC 268: Usman vs. Covington 2 took place Nov. 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Usman was however crowned winner in a unanimous decision over Colby Covington at UFC 268.

Usman had a slight edge in the first round as he connected with a couple of jabs and defended Colby’s attempted take-down.

In the second round, Usman scored a knocked down on Covington as his left punch floored the American who managed to finish the round.

Covington produced his best round in the fight as he pressured Usman and almost got a take-down at the end of the five-minute round.

The fight got more interesting in the fourth round as Covington scored more accurate punches and attempted some take-downs.

Both fighters landed big shots in the opening moments of round five as the fight went the distance and depended on the judge’s decision.

It was a rematch between the two best fighters in the UFC welterweight division. Usman previously recorded a technical knockout in round five against Covington the last time they fought in Las Vegas.
