A three-storey building has collapsed on Ibadan Street, Ebute-Metta East, Lagos.
According to the report, the building located on N24, Ibadan Street, which had been marked for demolition by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) collapsed at around 9:30 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident in a public emergency warning.
“An alert of a collapse of a three-storey building at 32 Ibadan Street, Ebute Metta, was received at 21:48 hours, Sunday with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service already at the scene.
“Search and Rescue ongoing with updates to follow, please,” the message read.
At the time of reporting this story, many of the building’s residents were still trapped beneath the rubble, despite efforts to rescue them.
