The 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP), is reportedly gaining ground in Osun state.
As per Punch, Atiku has won at least 18 of the 23 local government areas (LGAs) in the state where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced the results, while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress has only won five LGAs.

Atiku has won in places such Ede South, the hometown of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, Ila, the LGA of Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Odo Otin, the former governor, Atakumosa East, and Ilesa East, the local government of Minister Rauf Aregbesola, the reported added.
While Tinubu won LGAs such as Ife East, where APC national secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore voted, as well as Ife Central and Boripe, where Adegboyega Oyetola comes from.
Others are Osogbo and Olorunda, two local government areas in Osogbo Metropolis where Senate spokesperson Ajibola Basiru voted.
