Nigeria on Thursday, July 23, recorded 604 Coronavirus cases and 20 fatalities. The total cases across the country now stand at 38,948 including 22,054 active cases, 16,061 cured, and discharged. The cumulative death toll has reached 833.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, July 23, announced the new cases in its daily updates on coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria, that the new cases were recorded in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Continuing its lead as the worst-hit COVID state in the country, Lagos has reported 14,009 Coronavirus cases so far, including 203 new infections, followed by Oyo with 87 new cases with its COVID-19 Caseload stands at 2306, making the state the third most hit in the country.
FCT(Abuja), maintaining the second lead, has reported 79 new cases and 3376 overall COVID-19 cases to date.
In Edo state, 41 more cases were detected, 35 in Osun, 24 in Ogun, 22 each in Rivers and Kaduna, 20 in Akwa Ibom, 18 in Plateau, and nine each in Delta and Ebonyi
While other states with new cases of the virus are Imo(8) Enugu(5) Kano(5) Cross River(5) Katsina(4) Nasarawa(3) Borno(2) Ekiti(2) Bauchi(1).
4068 samples were tested for Coronavirus for 22nd July 2020 and overall 251,893 samples have been tested so far.
