Nigeria lawyer, Tope Akinyode, has called out former Presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, for his failure to appear before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Akinyode filed a lawsuit challenging the criminal complaint administered by Adamu Garba, against the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey.
Garba has previously sued Twitter co-founder over his support for the #EndSARS protests which happened in Nigeria last month. He filed a fundamental human rights suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja, demanding that Dorsey pays the federal government $1bn compensation over the resultant violence that marred the #EndSARS protests.
In response to his lawsuit, Akinyode challenged it by filing a counter-suit, describing Dorsey’s support for the EndSARS protest as a commendable act.
However, In a recent tweet, the lawyer revealed that Garba and his legal team failed to appear before the court and didn’t give any reasons for their absence.
“I was at the Federal High Court today to defend Adamu Garba’a lawsuit against @jack and @Twitter,” Akinyode tweet read. “However, @adamugarba & his lawyers failed to show up in Court without given reasons & the Court has now adjourned case to 22nd April 2021” he added.
