Netflix has not yet approved The Sandman for a second season, despite it being the most popular streaming series in the world.
Neil Gaiman, the creator and executive producer of The Sandman, affirms that, in the event that Netflix cancels the series, it may still be found on another streaming platform.
Gaiman made this statement in response to a fan’s tweet asking whether the show may be canceled.
“In case Netflix doesn’t continue, you can still bring [The Sandman] to other platforms [s] like [Prime Video], [Apple TV+], Disney+ or HBO Max, can’t you?” Gaiman simply responded with a “Yes.”

It wouldn’t be the first time that a comic book adaptation of The Sandman changed where it was distributed.
Fans of the show Lucifer may recall that it formerly aired on FOX before being canceled in 2018 following Season 3’s cliffhanger conclusion.
After the internet #SaveLucifer movement, Netflix really saved the program and brought it back for a fourth season, continuing the plot for two more seasons until its formal conclusion in 2021.
In a recent interview, Neil Gaiman stated that “Season 2 [is] going, to begin with, the great Lucifer-Morpheus rematch,” hinting at in the Season 1 conclusion.
The Sandman’s creative team is optimistic despite the cancellation and has already started writing the scripts for season two. After Season 1’s “groundwork” was set, executive producer David S. Goyer announced that Season 2 is already in production, noting that the writers may now “stretch our wings a bit more”
Therefore, The Sandman may go to another service and the writers will have started writing the tale for Season 2 if Netflix decides not to continue the Dreaming a second time.
Most of the program’s first season, including the bonus episode “Dream of a Thousand Cats/Calliope,” was taken directly from the source material. The show’s makers chose to collaborate with Netflix over other companies because they agreed to produce this covert episode.
