To use this feature, on Android, users can long-press the desired message, tap “More options,” and select “Edit.” iPhone users can achieve the same by simply tapping “Edit” after a long-press.
For Web or desktop users, mouse over the message, click the menu button, and then select “Edit message.” Once inside the editing window, users can make the necessary adjustments and save them by tapping the checkmark.
One of the main benefits of this feature is that it doesn’t cause the other party to receive any more chat notifications. This keeps the conversation moving and avoids needless interruptions.
However, at the moment, messaging editing is only available for text messages. At this moment, media files such as photos, videos, or their captions cannot be altered.
